Microsoft is still trying to unify the experience of its operating system across different form factors and devices. And Windows 10X is the corporation's latest attempt to achieve this. This is indicated by the hybrid interface, which combines an almost traditional Start (though without tiles), a layout typical of Android, as well as other aspects.

One of the innovations of the future β€œten” in the company called fast updates. It is claimed that they will take no more than 90 seconds and will be carried out in the background. It is also planned to update individual functions and capabilities in the form of stand-alone patches. This seems to be an indication of the modular structure of the OS.

The tech giant has already ΠΎΠΏΡƒΠ±Π»ΠΈΠΊΠΎΠ²Π°Π» a new app called Windows 10X Feature Experience Pack in the Microsoft app store, and it's essentially a "downloadable" part of Windows. It is assumed that the company will release updates through the store, like this plan to do and on Google. This will solve problems with cumulative updates and speed up their release. This will also improve the performance of the system as a whole.

Windows 10X is currently only optimized for dual-screen devices, but some developers have managed to get the system running on real hardware, including MacBook, Lenovo ThinkPad and Surface Go. And although the system is still at an early stage of development, the release is expected this year.
