The accelerator, with a recommended price of $450, is ready to challenge the GeForce RTX 2070 in terms of performance. So far, we've only had AMD performance slides, but now, thanks to the leaked 3DMark Time Spy test results, we can get some idea of ββwhat the Radeon RX 5700 XT can offer in DirectX 12.
Before new GPUs hit the market and are properly added to the 3Dmark database, they usually show up as Generic VGA and often don't provide additional factual information, but this model does include a number of interesting details. One of them clearly indicates that the manufacturer is AMD, that is, this is a reference sample for reviewers. The amount of memory of 8 GB is indicated exactly, the clock speeds are declared lower than expected - perhaps the point is in the errors in determining the frequency by the 3DMark test itself.
According to the results, the accelerator scored a graphics performance score of 8719, which is on par with the GeForce RTX 2070 Founders Edition, and historically Radeon cards are significantly inferior to the Turing-based RTX line. This looks pretty promising for the Radeon RX 5700 series of graphics cards based on the Navi 10 core and RDNA architecture.
The staff at WCCFTech created a short graph by including their 3DMark Time Spy graphics performance scores for a range of graphics cards and adding the Radeon RX 5700 XT result. It is important to note that the journalists' system was equipped with a Core i9-9900K @ 5 GHz processor, an EVGA Z370 motherboard and 16 GB of G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3200CL16 RAM, while the RX 5700 XT result that got into the Network was obtained on a comparable system, but with a simpler Core i7-8700K processor.
It is worth remembering that all this is still unofficial data. The launch of new AMD video cards will take place only on July 7 - then there will be a lot of reviews from various resources, including ours.
