Rumors are circulating on the Web that OnePlus is preparing an affordable OnePlus 8 Lite smartphone, designed to replace the mid-range OnePlus X model, which has been four years since its release. It is expected that the novelty will appear on the market along with OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones in the second quarter of next year.
OnePlus 8 Lite renders released by renowned leak hunter OnLeaks in partnership with 91Mobiles show that it will look different from the OnePlus 8 and Pro models, which share a similar design.
The OnePlus 8 Lite looks more like Samsung mobile devices, including the flagship Galaxy S11. The upcoming OnePlus smartphone has a camera cutout in the center of the top of the display, like the Galaxy Note 10 series devices, while the "older" OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro models have a camera cutout in the upper left corner.
OnePlus 8 Lite also differs from older models in the design of the rear camera. In this case, OnePlus used a design similar to that of the South Korean company's upcoming flagship Galaxy S11.
The smartphone will have a curved glass back with a rectangular camera module in the top left corner housing two cameras with LED flash as well as a ToF sensor.
There is no fingerprint scanner on the back of the OnePlus 8 Lite. Therefore, it is most likely located on the front panel below the display. This indicates that the phone will be equipped with an AMOLED panel. Whether the smartphone screen will have a refresh rate of 90 Hz is still unknown.
