I saw the light of LanguageTool 4.5 and 4.5.1!

LanguageTool is a free and open source grammar, style, punctuation and spelling checker. The main core of LanguageTool can be used as a LibreOffice/Apache OpenOffice extension and as a Java application. On the system website http://www.languagetool.org/ru the online form for checking the text works. A separate application is available for Android mobile devices LanguageTool proofreader.

In the new version 4.5:

  • Updated check modules for Russian, English, Ukrainian, Catalan, Dutch, German, Galician and Portuguese.
  • Extended syntax for built-in rules.

Changes in the Russian language module:

  • Extended and improved existing rules for checking punctuation and grammar.
  • Added contextual analysis capabilities.
  • Spelling variants of words with the missing letter “Ё” have been added to the dictionary of parts of speech.
  • New words have been added to the spelling dictionary of the independent version.

Version 4.5.1, released specifically for LibreOffice/Apache OpenOffice, fixed a bug due to which the rules for the current language of the checked text were not displayed in the LanguageTool settings dialog.

In addition, the infrastructure of the service was updated, the main site moved to a new server.

When using LanguageTool with LibreOffice 6.2 and above You can select a separate error underlining color for each rule category.
