KeyTrap vulnerability allows you to permanently disable DNS with a single request

Specialists from the German National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE reported the discovery of a dangerous vulnerability in the DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) mechanism, a set of DNS protocol extensions. The flaw theoretically allows you to disable the DNS server by carrying out a DoS attack. The study involved employees from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, the Fraunhofer Institute for Information Security Technology (Fraunhofer SIT) and the Technical University of Darmstadt.
