Android 11 will add new graphical controls for the smart home system

Leaked screenshots from the Android 11 developer documentation today lifted the veil of how the smartphone control menu (and not only) in the new OS will look in the near future, called up by pressing the power button. The updated interface may include a number of new shortcuts for both paying for goods and interacting with the smart home system - collectively called "Quick Controls".

Android 11 will add new graphical controls for the smart home system

Images with new GUI elements have been tweeted Michael Rahman (Mishaal Rahman) of XDA-Developers, who in turn discovered screenshots from a user @deletescape. The first information about these shortcuts appeared at least as early as March of this year, but the latest screenshots give a better idea of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbwhat this screen will look like.

In the case of a smart home system, for example, it will be possible to control various household devices: lighting, locks, thermostats, and so on. Of course, the standard β€œpower off” and β€œreboot” buttons will remain in the menu. The existing Shutdown, Restart, Screenshot, and Emergency buttons have been moved to the top of the screen above the Google Pay label (similar to the one that was added to the Google Pixel back in March).

However, the bulk of the screen is occupied by smart home controls. Android Police Resource сообщаСтthat a single tap on one of them will change the state of the corresponding device to β€œon” or β€œoff”, and a long press will either provide more control options or open the smart home application directly. As Rahman notes, in one of the screenshots, you can see that the video stream from the home camera can be broadcast directly to this menu.

Officially, Google was supposed to introduce Android 11 on June 3rd, but decided postpone announcement. It is currently unknown when this event will take place.
