The Xbox Store beta on PC has finally received an update that will give players official access to game mods.
The Xbox app on PC will allow Xbox Game Pass subscribers to access their games on a personal computer and also includes other games (some of which are not yet available on Steam). Beta users have been asking Microsoft to implement mod support for a long time, and now it has officially begun to roll out.
Microsoft recently announced that it will implement modifications to its store's digital distribution system. The latest update to the beta version of the Xbox Store app is already giving us an idea of ββwhat this functionality will look like.
It looks like the only game currently available that supports the new feature is Into the Breach: an independent strategy game developed by Subset Games. The game's store page has a new option called "Enable Mods" that opens a warning window explaining what mods are and removes Microsoft's liability if the mod breaks the game or doesn't meet the age rating.
The Xbox Store Beta client still does not have an official mod store. To install them, you will have to find them on third-party sites. The modding community tends to be driven by enthusiasm and passion, so the support for such features can only please.
