Last week it became known that the China-made Model 3 was added to the list of innovative vehicles approved by the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China, the production of which is subject to state subsidies.

According to some sources, this means that the government has also given its consent to the sale of Tesla electric vehicles, but so far there has been no official confirmation of this.

The cost of the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus with a range of 250 miles (402 km) in China starts at 355 yuan (about $800). Tesla has already opened pre-orders for an electric car, but has not yet announced their number. Therefore, it is difficult to assess how great the demand for the Model 50, made in the Middle Kingdom.

The company said it intends to increase production at its Shanghai plant to 3000 Model 3 units a week by early next year.
