The Opera browser for PC now has the ability to group tabs

The developers have introduced a new version of the Opera 67 browser. Thanks to the function of grouping tabs, called β€œspaces,” it will help users be more organized. You can create up to five spaces, giving each of them a different name and image. This approach will allow you to keep tabs for work, leisure, home, hobbies, etc. inside different windows.

Opera conducted a study that showed that 65% of users would like to have more order within the browser, and 60% of people miss a feature that allows them to group tabs. Therefore, Opera decided on the need to create such a tool.

Space icons are located at the top of the sidebar, where you can also see which space is currently selected. To open a link inside another space, just right-click on it and move it to the desired location using the context menu. Tabs can be moved between different spaces in a similar way.

The new browser has a visual tab switcher, making it easier and more convenient to interact with web pages. To switch between tab previews, just press the Ctrl+Tab key combination. In addition, Opera can now detect duplicate tabs. In the new browser, tabs with the same URL will be highlighted in color when you hover over one of them.

β€œA long time ago, Opera first invented tabs in the browser, but today we all understand that people would like more support from the browser interface to manage those tabs. Everyone wants to have order in their browser, and ideally without having to do it themselves regularly. Spaces allow you to bring more organization right from the start without having to learn how the feature works,” said Joanna Czajka, director of product for Opera on desktop.
