Chrome 84 will enable protection against annoying notifications by default

Google company reported about the decision to include in the release of Chrome 84, scheduled for July 14, annoying notifications, such as spamming requests to receive push notifications. Since such requests interrupt the user's work and divert attention to actions in the confirmation dialogs, instead of a separate dialog in the address bar, an information tooltip will be displayed that does not require user action, warning about blocking the request for permissions, which automatically collapses into an indicator with a strikethrough bell. By clicking on the indicator, you can activate or reject the requested permission at any convenient time.

The new mode will automatically be applied to sites that are found to be abusing notifications (for example, displaying bogus messages that resemble chat messages, alerts or system dialogs), as well as sites that record a high percentage of rejection of authorization requests. Sites are discouraged from using pop-ups or distracting promotional dialogs that offer to subscribe to notifications, which are usually displayed before requesting permissions. Permissions should be requested only after user-initiated actions, for example, when the user clicks on a special subscription checkbox in the menu or on a separate page. Prior to widespread activation, the new mode can be enabled using the "chrome://flags/#quiet-notification-prompts" setting.
