Artificial intelligence technologies sometimes find very unexpected applications. For example, Dubai has introduced smart cameras that will measure the happiness levels of visitors to the Dubai Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) customer service centres. These centers issue driving licenses, register cars and provide other similar services to the public.
The agency, when unveiling the new system last Monday, noted that it would rely on high-precision cameras with artificial intelligence technology. Devices connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and are able to shoot at a speed of 30 frames per second from a distance of 7 meters.
It is noted that the presented technology will analyze the facial expressions of customers before and after providing them with the services of the center. As a result, the system will evaluate the level of customer satisfaction in real time and instantly notify employees if the βhappiness indexβ falls below a certain level. In this case, it will be possible to take the necessary actions to restore the level of customer satisfaction.
It is also noted that the system will only analyze the emotions on the faces of users, but will not store photos. Thanks to this, the privacy of RTA clients will not be violated, because the system will work without their knowledge in order to avoid distorting the received data on emotions.
