On the evening of September 15, a large-scale festival "Wargaming Fest: Tanker's Day" ended with fireworks in the center of Minsk. This year he set many records. The number of visitors to the holiday, arranged by Wargaming together with the city authorities and the military, amounted to 250 thousand people who arrived at the place from three dozen countries. Over 2,6 million people also followed the event online.
“We started preparing for this holiday exactly a year ago and tried to take into account all the accumulated experience in order to make the stay of guests at this festival as comfortable as possible,” said Maxim Grachev, the main organizer of the event. “And judging by the feedback received, as well as by the number of participants who attended the event, we succeeded: we gave people a real holiday and confirmed the status of the largest festival of interactive entertainment in Europe.”
This time, Wargaming Fest has really noticeably added in scale: suffice it to say that the territory of the festival was 100 hectares. The entertainment program for the whole family has also significantly expanded: more than 120 zones with a wide variety of activities have been provided throughout the Victory Park, ranging from a giant tankwister, slot machines and bizarre labyrinths to breakdance master classes and a school for DJs.
At a special site of the Armed Forces of Belarus, the guests were able to get acquainted with military equipment and take pictures with real tanks of various models. Among other things, the T-72B3 tank was presented, on which the Belarusian team took second place in tank biathlon competitions. In addition, more than 30 photo zones, 130 food courts, as well as interactive platforms from holiday partners are located on the territory of Wargaming Fest: Tankman's Day.
Of course, due attention was paid to computer games: right under the open sky, more than 200 systems were put up on the site, on which players could fight each other in World of Tanks, earning bonus codes. At World of Tanks Blitz, the three most successful fighters in terms of the amount of experience earned in matches received Honor 10 smartphones. And in the demonstration zone, players could get acquainted with the new third-person competitive action game about special forces - Caliber, which continues to be at the preliminary testing stage.
In addition, an additional World of Tanks, Caliber and Pagan Online game zone was installed in the Premium Hangar on more than 100 computers. And fans of "World of Tanks: Mercenaries" were able to fight each other on Xbox One X, experience the possibilities of 4K resolution and realistic console graphics. Also in this zone, the international tournament "Steel Hunter: Battle of Bloggers" was held, in which blogger __NIDIN__ won among 20 participants. He became the owner of the "Main Caliber" for the largest amount of damage inflicted in total during 10 battles, and took the prize of 110 ₽. At the same time, the World of Tanks Clan Super Cup match took place on the main stage, in which the best teams of the Russian and European regions took part. The players faced off in a 15v15 format for a $40 prize pool.
