Proton's redesigned user interface, which will be offered with the June 89 release of Firefox 1, has another major change that breaks the traditional browser experience. As part of the redesign, it was decided to remove the “…” (Page Actions) menu built into the address bar, through which it was possible to add a bookmark, send a link to Pocket, pin a tab, work with the clipboard, and initiate sending material by e-mail.
The change is already included in the Firefox 89 beta release and nightly builds. The options present in the Page Actions menu have been moved to other parts of the interface, remain available in the panel settings section and can be separately placed on the panel as buttons. The specified menu was added in Firefox 57 and included rarely requested items or duplicated options from other parts of the interface. After the item for creating screenshots was removed in the last release, this menu has largely lost its meaning (for example, there are more familiar elements for bookmarks, working with the clipboard and pinning tabs, and options for sending to pocket and email are not in demand by everyone).

Other interface changes expected in Firefox 89 include hiding the default setting for activating the compact panel display mode (Mozilla originally intended to remove this mode, but users managed to defend it), new icons, new design of tabs and tooltips, cleaning of the main menu, redesigned modal dialogs, a pop-up panel for customizing the page for opening a new tab.
