The other day, Fortnite hosted a Device event that changed the island beyond recognition. The map was littered with explosions, and then the location sank under the ocean. Over 2 million viewers simultaneously followed it on Twitch. This means that Fortnite has broken the viewership record again, but perhaps not in a very fair way.
According to statistics provided by Twitch, the number of simultaneous viewers of Fortnite during the event reached 2,3 million. Prior to this, the record was held by League of Legends with 1,7 million viewers during World Championship 2019. Ahead of the Fortnite event, Epic Games announced that gaming space would be "limited" - leading many fans to watch the event unfold on Twitch or YouTube.
On the other hand, Epic Games could have made it so that everything went smoothly. The company itself says that the total number of players is limited to 12 million "for the sake of stability", but this number will be increased in the future. Intentionally, the Fortnite developers decided to increase the popularity of the project with another record or not, the numbers are still impressive: in addition to Twitch, the event also attracted attention on YouTube, where 6,1 million viewers watched it.
Returning to the third season: now the world of Fortnite has been flooded with opponents in addition to players. Dangerous sharks swim in the waters that eat objects, but they can also be used as a vehicle - just catch this big fish with a bait. In addition, marauders appeared on the island.
Water from the island of the third season will gradually decrease and expose new areas. As Epic Games promises, new roads and modes of transportation will become available in the future. Aquaman also appeared in the game.
