The new mode is called the same as the operation - Gridiron. Two teams of five fight over a flag that can be used to score a touchdown in the opponent's end zone. At the start of each round, the flag appears in one of three places along the center line of the map. After you raise the flag and enter the enemy's end zone, you need to survive for 5 seconds to score a touchdown. If at some point you fall or die, then you drop the flag and it can be captured by the opposing team.
Since the flag is the center of action in Gridiron, it is a single life mode. Destroying the enemy team can also ensure you win the round. In total, you need to score 13 points to win. There are several ways to get them: 2 points per touchdown; 2 points for destroying the enemy team; 1 point for holding the flag at the end of the round timer (2 minutes).
August Cole and Clayton Carmine will also return to the PvP and PvE modes in the third operation as an offensive fighter and a tank, respectively.
Of the enemies, Queen Mirra and the guard Theron will become available.
New map - Pahanu. Represents the ruins of an old civilization in the jungle. The environment adds a twist to Gears combat with organic cover, strong flanks, weapon placement, and hide-and-seek fauna. Also available in Gears 5 are the Canals, Arena (2v2) and Annex (2v2) maps.
Gears 5 - Operation 3: Gridiron will be available on March 31st. The game was released on PC and Xbox One.
