Cryptocurrencies created on open blockchains are illegitimate financial instruments. About it
βI would like to note that actions with cryptocurrencies that are not subject to Russian law will be considered illegitimate. This means that βminingβ, organizing the release, circulation, and creation of exchange points for these instruments will be prohibited. For this, administrative liability in the form of a fine will be provided. We believe that cryptocurrencies created on open blockchains - bitcoins, ethers, etc., are illegitimate instruments, βsaid the committee member.
At the same time, he noted that the possession of cryptocurrencies will not be prohibited, but only if they are purchased abroad, and not in Russia. Aksakov also believes that βa critical mass of actions and operations is now accumulating that will allow bitcoin to become popular again.β
The head of the committee also clarified that the law βOn Digital Financial Assetsβ is planned to be adopted in June before the end of the spring session, although earlier this process was slowed down due to the FATF requirements for regulating existing cryptocurrencies.
At the same time, we note that bitcoin recently exceeded the cost of $ 8000 per "coin", but in recent days its price has fallen somewhat. Analysts do not yet predict the further behavior of cryptocurrency No. 1, therefore it is difficult to say how its course may behave.
