🥇KDE now allows you to customize the visual borders of elements

Nate Graham, a quality assurance developer for the KDE project, has published the latest KDE development report. The most notable changes being developed for the release of KDE Plasma 6.6, scheduled for February 12th, include:

The maximum number of virtual desktops has been increased from 20 to 25 (allowing virtual desktops to be displayed in a 5x5 grid).
Added support for the xdg portal for accessing USB devices from sandboxed applications.
Added support for customizing the visual highlighting of frames and outlines for interface elements using the Breeze theme. Among other options, you can completely disable element separators or use a contrasting color to separate elements.
On systems with the kernel Linux 6.20 and the corresponding hardware support have implemented the ability to adjust the clarity of the entire screen content.
Buttons for selecting and deselecting all thumbnails have been added to the interface for selecting desktop wallpapers for display in slideshow mode.
The Bluetooth configuration interface has been redesigned in the configurator. Frames have been added to the list item buttons, text has been added to the "Connect" buttons, and the active device settings tab is now hidden when Bluetooth is disabled.
Additional margins have been implemented on the wallpaper selection page in the configurator.
Improved display of content on system information pages.
Added the Meta+I key combination to open the configurator.
The ability to use the keyword "dxdiag", familiar to users, has been implemented Windows, to display information about the graphics subsystem during search.
Text fields use the standard button style for inline actions.
A button has been added to Discover to check for updates again, which is displayed in the dialog after each update installation is complete and a reboot prompt is displayed.
The Breeze GTK theme, similar to the Breeze Qt theme, no longer uses gradients on buttons.
The size of sliders on the screen settings page in the configurator has been unified.

Additionally, we would like to highlight the fixes for issues identified after the release of KDE Plasma 6.5, which will be included in the 6.5.2 maintenance release:

KRunner's search results ranking has been improved. High priority is now given to exact matches of names and keywords, medium priority to partial matches at the beginning of a string, and low priority to partial matches in the middle of a string.
The new background blur implementation is closer to the behavior in Plasma 6.4, which resolves the issue of overly bright backgrounds in dark styles and transparency. The "background contrast" effect is disabled by default.
Fixed a crash in KWin when moving the pointer to some external displays connected to laptops.
Fixed a crash in the screen selection dialog when creating a new virtual output device.
Fixed a crash in the Discover app when opening the installed packages page on distributions that ship firmware files in the main repository.
Fixed a regression that caused some apps to not work properly. virtual machines Pasting via the clipboard stopped working.

Changes for KDE Frameworks 6.20:

Alignment of star icons has been adjusted to be consistent with other icons.
Fixed Plasma crashes that occurred when using a large number of monitoring widgets (System Monitor).
Fixed a bug where the open/save dialog would not show for files when called from some Flatpak applications.
