Red Hat appoints new CEO

Red Hat has announced the appointment of a new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The new head of the company appointed Matt Hicks (Matt Hicks), who previously served as vice president of Red Hat products and technology. Mat joined Red Hat in 2006 and began working on the development team doing the work of porting code from Perl to Java. Later, Mat led the development of hybrid cloud technologies and became one of the leaders of the Red Hat OpenShift project.

Paul Cormier, the former president of Red Hat, who led the company after Jim Whitehurst, was transferred to the position of chairman of the board of directors (chairman) of Red Hat. Mat Hicks and Paul Cormier will report to Arvind Krishna, the CEO of IBM, which took over Red Hat in 2019 but left it independent and able to operate as a separate business unit.
