Ikoria: Lair of Giants includes 274 cards - see the full list here on the official website. In addition, the game added Godzilla and other monsters from his universe (16 cards in total).

The release also introduces several new mechanics, including Looping (for finding the perfect card), Mutation (for creating the "strongest monsters"), and Companions (legendary creatures).

Among other things, with the premiere of "Ikoria: Lair of the Giants" in Magic: The Gathering Arena, it became possible to participate in drafts with up to seven live opponents, which, according to the developers, brings the game as close as possible to the tabletop format. Previously, the process of selecting cards in drafts took place with bots.

"In the perilous world of Ikoria, gigantic beasts struggle to survive, while humans are forced to dwell at the base of the food chain, in constant fear of the creatures beyond the walls and traitorous humans," reads the release description.

Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths will hit retail stores on May 15 as part of the Prerelease phase. The desktop version was originally expected to premiere in April, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The release version of Magic: The Gathering Arena was released on September 26, 2019 in its own launcher, and on January 16, 2020 appeared in the Epic Games Store. The game is distributed on a shareware model, however, card boosters can be purchased for special crystals, which are sold for real money.
