Linux-skills youth competitions will take place in March

Registration is open for children and youth competitions in Linux - “Linux-skills”, which will be held as part of the festival of technical creativity “TechnoKakTUS”. Competitions are held in two categories: Alt-skills (ALT Linux) and Calculate-skills (Calculate Linux), in three age groups: 10-13 years old, 14-17 years old, 18-22 years old.

An online qualifying round will be held from March 1 to March 10, 2026, where participants will undergo testing. The final round will take place from March 25 to April 1, 2026. Participants will be given access to a virtual booth where they will need to configure a network and migrate workstations from MS Windows to Linux, followed by Linux and network configuration.

The competition uses the Simply Linux and Calculate Linux distributions, along with OpenWRT on routers. The finals will be held in person at support sites in Moscow, the Moscow region (Shchyolkovo), and St. Petersburg. At the participants' request, sites can be arranged in other cities.
