WhatsApp has new privacy settings

WhatsApp group chats are an important part of the messenger. With the rise in popularity of the platform, the number of unwanted groups has steadily increased. To combat this problem, the developers decided to integrate additional privacy settings, the use of which will prevent users from adding you to group chats.

WhatsApp has new privacy settings

Previously, WhatsApp group administrators had the ability to add any other user to the chat, even if he did not give his consent to this. The only limitation was that the user had to be in the contact list on the administrator's device.

Now users will be able to choose who can add them to group chats. The new feature is available in the mobile app for Android and iOS platforms. To use it, just go to the β€œAccounts” section from the settings menu, and then to β€œPrivacy”. Here you can choose one of the available options. Depending on the need, you can allow all users to add you to groups, limit this ability to your contact list, or block the action altogether.
