Microsoft Edge now lets you remap the search engine in a new tab

In the Microsoft Edge browser based on the Chromium engine appeared the ability to reassign the search engine not only in the address bar, but also on a new tab. By default, the Bing branded search engine is installed there, which works when you open a new page. There is a similar thing in the proprietary Google browser.

And if you can change the default search engine in the address bar, then on new pages you had to use Bing or go to sites of other systems manually.

At the moment, you can choose between Google, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Ask and other systems. So far, this feature has been implemented in the latest update of Microsoft Edge Canary, the timing of its release in the developer version, beta and release assembly is not reported.

This feature is enabled by default. You can configure the desired search engine in the edge://settings/search section.

This is not the only innovation in earlier versions of the browser. Previously there appeared the ability to highlight different parts of speech in the text of web pages, which can be important if a browser is used to teach children.
