The city project "IT class in a Moscow school" includes Samsung's additional education program, as reported by the South Korean giant.
Starting September 1, 2019, new IT classes will appear in Moscow schools along with engineering, medical, academic, and cadet classes. In particular, on the basis of school No. 1474, located in the Khovrino district of Moscow, it is planned to conduct classes under the Samsung IT School program.
Tenth grade students will learn how to develop applications for the Android platform in Java, and as an individual project activity they will be offered to write their own mobile application.
In order to study according to the program, students have to go through a two-stage competitive selection. In May, the first stage will take place, at which the schools will conduct an entrance test to the IT class among the current ninth graders, and at the second stage, selection will be made for the Samsung IT School subgroup.
The South Korean company will provide the school with an electronic textbook developed by specialists from the Samsung Moscow Research Center and a team of teachers, according to which students will study theoretical and practical materials, as well as pass control tests. School teachers who will teach the program will receive special training.
Let us add that Samsung IT School is a federal-scale project, within which high school students and young professionals receive free programming training in more than 20 regions of Russia. Students learn the fundamentals of information technology, Java programming and gain practical skills in creating mobile applications on the Android platform.
