MTS Simcomats with Personal Recognition Appeared in Russian Post Offices

The MTS operator began to install automatic terminals for issuing SIM cards in Russian Post offices.

The so-called simcomats use biometric technology. In order to get a SIM card, you need to scan the passport pages with a photo and the code of the department that issued the passport on your device, and take a picture.

Further, the system will automatically determine the authenticity of the document, compare the photo in the passport with the picture taken on the spot, recognize and fill in subscriber data. If there are no problems during these operations, the terminal will issue a SIM card ready for operation.

It should be noted that the entire procedure for automatically purchasing a SIM card takes only about two minutes. Citizens of the Russian Federation over 18 years of age and foreign citizens can use the system (the interface of the simcomat has been translated into the most popular foreign languages).

It is reported that now MTS installs terminals in the capital branches of the Russian Post. Machine guns have been launched in post offices of the Eastern, Central, Tagansky and Southern administrative districts of Moscow.

It is important to emphasize that the software used by simcomats for processing personal and biometric data provides a high level of information protection during its transmission over communication channels.
