The release of the exfatprogs 1.2.0 package has been published. The set includes the utilities mkfs.exfat, fsck.exfat, tune.exfat, exfatlabel, dump.exfat and exfat5.7img. The code is written in C and distributed under the GPLv2 license.
The new release is notable for the implementation in the fsck.exfat utility of the ability to repair corruption in the exFAT file system (previously, the functionality was limited only to identifying problems) and support for bypassing files in directories with a damaged structure. New options have also been added to fsck.exfat: "b" to restore the boot sector and "s" to create lost files in the "/LOST+FOUND" directory. In the exfat2img utility, the ability to create metadata dumps from the exFAT file system has been added.
