The company also notes a steady increase in the production of flexible AMOLED screens for smartphones. These products are produced by the Chinese BOE plant on 6G generation substrates. At the same time, the manufacturer two 6G generation factories to produce flexible AMOLEDs.
According to BOE, the company's smartphone screens are being bought by market leaders Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo. In the first quarter, the company increased shipments of displays for smartphones by 40% year-on-year to Chinese first-tier manufacturers alone. All this is reflected in the company's earnings. BOE operating revenue in the first quarter for the year increased by 22,66% to 26,454 billion yuan ($3,92 billion). The company's quarterly net profit reached 1,052 billion yuan ($156,21 million), which is much higher than the profit in previous months.
Separately, BOE Technology reports an increase in revenue in areas such as information boards (screens) for transport and commerce. BOE Technology screens are purchased for the Russian metro and railway infrastructure in Italy. In China, over 80% of the displays on the high-speed railway are BOE products.
