On the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds blog, the developers talked more about how artificial intelligence is programmed. So, when moving, bots are regulated by navigation meshes that permeate the maps of the royal battle. They help artificial intelligence not jump off a cliff and find the shortest path to the next destination.

To make the bots more human-like in gunfights, they had to apply bullet physics. Thanks to this, players can dodge shots, maneuvering, as in combat with other users. However, the trajectory of the bullets is still calculated by artificial intelligence, so the bots had to reduce the accuracy depending on the distance to the target. As the developer added, all this was carefully balanced.

In terms of loot, PUBG Corporation analysts and game designers have done a lot of testing and collected data on how players behave on the map, as well as what and where items are picked up during each stage of the match. So, the developers were able to set up mining targets for bots. For example, in the early stages of a match, artificial intelligence will prefer to hold a submachine gun in its hands, and only then switch to a sniper rifle.

Bots will be encountered mainly by beginners. The higher your MMR level, the less likely you are to get into an AI match. In addition, in the coming months, PUBG Corporation plans to introduce machine learning methods into the game to improve it.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is out on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
