The developers of the Thunderbird email client have published a development plan for the next three years. At the specified time, the project intends to achieve three main goals:
- Redesigning the user interface from scratch in order to create a user interface suitable for different categories of users (beginners and old-timers), easily customizable to your own preferences and a complete design system.
- Increasing the reliability and compactness of the code base, rewriting obsolete code and getting rid of accumulated problems (getting rid of technical debt).
- Transition to monthly formation of new releases.
