This, according to the RIA Novosti online publication, is about testing a special unmanned aerial vehicle on board the orbital complex. In particular, it is planned to work out the control system, as well as evaluate the design features and operation parameters of the power plant.

At the first stage, a drone driven by a propeller engine will be delivered to the ISS. This drone will operate in conjunction with a base station and controls adapted for use in space.

Based on the test results, it is planned to create a second drone designed for operation in open space. β€œIt will be equipped with technical vision, as well as devices for securing the load and devices for grabbing handrails on the outside of the Russian segment of the ISS so that it can work overboard,” RIA Novosti notes.

It is assumed that the drone for working in outer space will be equipped with "reactive executive bodies."

Tests of an unmanned aerial vehicle for the International Space Station will last several years.
