Beeline, together with Huawei, organized a remote medical consultation to support two operations using medical equipment and 5G networks.
Two operations were performed online: removal of an NFC chip implanted in the hand of George Held, executive vice president for digital and new business development at Beeline, and removal of a cancerous tumor, during which a laparoscope connected to the 5G network was used, 4K- camera, anesthesiology console, several additional cameras and a Huawei 5G digital βwhite boardβ for the exchange of expert opinions among the consultation participants.
The remote consultation was conducted by Professor Sergei Ivanovich Emelyanov, Director of the Centrosoyuz Hospital, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Society of Endoscopic Surgeons.
As noted, the use of 5G technologies can contribute to the development of the healthcare sector. Thanks to the capabilities of the new communication standard, patients in remote regions who need immediate prompt assistance from specialists will no longer have to travel to a clinic or hospital in large regional centers.
