Production of SSD GS Group with PCIe interface started in Russia

Microelectronics Development Center within GS Group - GS Nanotech - has started production of the first Russian SSDs with PCIe interface and NVMe protocol support. The development and production of new products are fully localized in Russia in the Technopolis GS innovation cluster (GS Group investment project in Gusev, Kaliningrad region). Previously, GS Nanotech has already launched the production of SSDs, but these were models with a SATA 6 Gb / s interface. The transition to the release of drives with a PCI Express bus will speed up data exchange with drives up to five times, depending on the capacity of the model.

A distinctive feature of SSD production in the Kaliningrad region in the Technopolis GS cluster is that the company produces NAND memory modules, assemblies of components on the board, final assembly and packaging of products. Obviously, the company is buying memory wafers that have not yet been cut into crystals. This avoids the risk of "bookmarks" when buying ready-made microcircuits abroad. Cutting, packaging and testing of memory takes place in Russia with full control at every stage of production, which should attract local integrators. For the manufacture of PCIe SSDs, the manufacturer purchases advanced 3D NAND TLC memory.

The lineup of PCIe SSDs ends with 2 TB instances. The sequential write speed rises to 3200 MB/s, as does the sequential read speed. The random write speed is up to 70 IOPS, and the random read speed is up to 000 IOPS. The project for the production of SSD GS Group in Russia started in 400. The first production sample of a 000 GB SATA 2016 drive was released in 256. In February 3.0, the GS Group holding launched mass production of SSDs of its own design. Today, the manufacturer offers a whole series of enterprise-class solid state drives up to 2017 TB in several form factors.
