Chinese tech giant Huawei is expected to soon introduce the Honor Play 4 Pro smartphone. This device will be the first device to support 5G networks in the Honor Play family. Today, the first live images of the upcoming smartphone appeared on the Internet.
The photo shows the back panel of the phone. The image confirms that the device will be equipped with a dual-camera unit, as previously reported. Both lenses and the LED flash are housed in a rectangular block covered with dark glass. Interestingly, below the camera block there is a certain round element that looks like the LiDAR sensor that is equipped with the iPad Pro tablet made by Apple.
LiDAR is a remote sensing technology that uses light from a pulsed laser beam to measure the distance to objects. The LiDAR sensor emits laser light and then measures how long it takes to return to the sensor.
There is no information yet about what the sensor in Honor Play 4 Pro can be used for. There is a possibility that it will be used to build three-dimensional models of objects. There is also an opinion that this is just an infrared temperature sensor.
It is expected that the smartphone will be presented on the third of June. Its estimated cost is not yet known.
