U.S. federal prosecutors have accused New York-based Aventura Technologies of compromising the security of the U.S. government and private customers by illegally importing and selling video surveillance and security equipment from China.
Charges against Aventura and seven current and former employees of the company were announced on Thursday in federal court in Brooklyn.
The company's largest customers are US government agencies, including the army, navy and air force, although it has also sold products to private companies, passing them off as made in the US and earning about $2010 million since 88.
