The essence of an interactive advisor is to offer games that are in demand among people with similar tastes and habits. The system does not directly consider tags and reviews, so a project with mixed reviews may appear in the list of recommendations. The interactive advisor window will be displayed on the main page with a note "liked by players with similar preferences". Near this section there is a "configure" key, which can be used to change the system settings. For example, the user is free to set the popularity, select the release period, exclude games from the wishlist, and so on.
According to Valve, the capabilities of the interactive advisor have been tested for a long time in the Steam Lab. This search method proved to be excellent in all respects, so it was made part of the core functionality.
