Gaijin Entertainment has announced that ships of the Japanese fleet will appear in the online action game War Thunder.
Testing of the new ship branch will begin with the release of update 1.89 at the end of May. The Japanese Navy will offer more than twenty ships of various classes, whose prototypes participated in the largest operations of the Second World War. Among them are the light cruiser Agano, the destroyer Yugumo and the torpedo boat PT-15. In addition, a completely new class of ships for War Thunder will debut in the Japanese fleet β heavy cruisers.
Used by the destroyers and cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II, Type 93 oxygen torpedoes were very powerful, fast and long-range. Players will be able to verify this in War Thunder on many ships. For example, with the destroyer Yugumo, as it is equipped with two quadruple 610 mm torpedo tubes.
It will be possible to get access to testing the Japanese fleet by completing daily tasks in War Thunder after the release of the update. In addition, the opportunity to play as the Japanese comes with a pre-order package that includes a premium ship, in-game currency, a premium account subscription, a unique title, and a decal. The entire branch of the Japanese fleet will become available to buyers of the set immediately after the release of the update.
War Thunder is available for free on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
