Whatsapp will add a "dark" mode

The fashion for dark design for programs continues to take new heights. This time, this mode appeared in the beta version of the popular WhatsApp messenger for the Android operating system.

Whatsapp will add a "dark" mode

The developers are currently testing the new feature. It is noted that when this mode is activated, the background of the application becomes almost black, and the text becomes white. That is, we are not talking about inverting the picture, but it is close to inversion.

It is noted that the beta version of Android Q has already been released, in which native night mode will be implemented, so the developers decided to add this feature to the messenger. It has not yet been specified when the release will be released, but, obviously, this will happen closer to the date of the OS update.

Thus, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android numbered 2.19.82 allows you to evaluate what Dark Mode looks like on Android. At the same time, developers demonstrated this possibility on iOS even earlier. In general, the company has been working on a “dark” mode since September last year.

We also note that WhatsApp developers are testing new features of the messenger aimed at detecting spam. For example, this is a notification about forwarding messages of other users, as well as mailing control. Those messages that have been forwarded more than four times will be marked in the chat with a special symbol.

In addition, this beta build has added a user fingerprint recognition feature. To activate it, go to "Settings" > "Account" > "Privacy" > "Use fingerprints".

You can also choose the auto-block time for WhatsApp - 1, 10 or 30 minutes. And the wrong fingerprint will block the application for a while.
