Windows 10 has a "cloud" backup

The Windows 10 operating system includes some troubleshooting tools that allow you to either keep your files or perform a clean system reinstall. But it looks like Redmond is experimenting with other recovery formats. After all, it is not always at hand to have a bootable USB drive or DVD, or access to another computer.

Windows 10 has a "cloud" backup

In the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build 18950 showed up point regarding the "cloud" backup. In fact, this is an analogue of the function in macOS. There, the combination of the Option-Command-R or Shift-Option-Command-R buttons at startup will initiate an Internet connection and download the latest version of the OS.

It is reported that the feature may only arrive next spring, as it is included in the "insider" assembly of the 20H1 series. In addition to the "cloud" backup, there is an improved Snip & Sketch tool, bug fixes and so on.

Overall, it looks like Windows 10 is really getting better. The German organization AV-TEST reported that, according to the results of testing, Windows Defender became an antivirus, the effectiveness of which is at the level of Kaspersky and Symantec products. It received the highest possible score of 18 points, which means it is comfortable, fast and provides the right level of protection.

F-Secure SAFE, Kaspersky Internet Security, and Symantec Norton Security also scored the highest. Avast Free Antivirus, AVG Internet Security, Bitdefender Internet Security, Trend Micro Internet Security, VIPRE Security Advanced Security scored 0,5 points lower. Webroot SecureAnywhere scored only 11,5 points.
