We are talking, in particular, about Arch Linux, Manjaro, Pop!_OS and Fedora. A more specific list of operating systems is planned to be announced additionally.

The company said that most games on Steam only support 32-bit environments, although the client itself may be 64-bit. Because of this, both options must be supported. In addition, Steam is already bundled with many dependencies specific to 32-bit operating systems. These are drivers, and loaders, and much more.

It is noted that support for 32-bit libraries will continue until Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, so there is time to adapt. Containers are offered as an alternative.
