Valve has implemented protection against resellers and promised new batches of Steam Controllers.

At 8:00 PM Moscow time on May 20, Valve will allow users to reserve the Steam Controller on the store page, giving potential buyers the opportunity to take their place in the waiting list. When the controller becomes available again, Valve will send emails to users in the order of reservation. Buyers will have 72 hours from the email receipt to confirm their order and complete the purchase through Steam.

Valve has also added additional account requirements to prevent speculation. To place an order, you must have a valid Steam account (without any suspensions) that has made purchases before April 27, 2026.
