The Speech Technology Center (STC), according to the Kommersant newspaper, is implementing a project to develop a new voice assistant, the intellectual assistant Varvara.

We are talking about creating a system that will be available to third-party companies under a licensed model. Customers will be able to integrate Varvara into their own devices and applications, as well as embed it into their services via the cloud.

A feature of the developed platform will be the support of biometric technologies. In particular, the system will be able to recognize users by voice, which will allow them to work with personalized services.

There is no word on when the project will be completed. There is also no information on the amount of investment in the creation of Barbara at the moment.

It is assumed that in the future, "Barbarian" will compete with another Russian voice assistant - the assistant "Alice", created by Yandex.

We also add that other companies are also developing voice assistants. So, Mail.ru Group is creating a system called Marusya, and Tinkoff Bank may have an intelligent assistant named Oleg.
