Earlier this month, Adobe announced that a number of new AI-powered tools will be added to Photoshop 2020. One of these is the Smart Object Selector, which is designed to make things easier, especially for Photoshop beginners.

Currently, irregularly shaped objects can be selected in images using the Lasso, Magic Wand, Quick Selection, Background Eraser, and other tools. But sometimes it can be extremely difficult to accurately select an object, so many beginners usually do this procedure rough, especially if there is a background and fuzzy edges (for example, animal hair or human hair). However, with the help of the new tool, this task will be much easier to handle.

In a video on its YouTube channel, Adobe showed the new tool in action, emphasizing that it is based on the company's artificial intelligence algorithms, collectively called Sensei AI. As you can see in the video, the whole process seems very simple and easy: all the user has to do is circle the entire object, and it will be selected automatically (something similar is already implemented in Photoshop Elements 2020).

Surely the accuracy of the result will vary from photo to photo, but if the tool actually works as advertised, it will definitely be a very useful feature that simplifies life even for professionals.
