Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) is an NVIDIA RTX technology that harnesses the power of AI to improve frame rates in graphics-intensive games. Thanks to intelligent full-screen anti-aliasing, players can use higher resolutions and settings while maintaining stable frame rates and good picture quality, without combing.
DLSS relies on Turing architecture tensor cores in GeForce RTX graphics cards, and in Anthem this mode allows, according to NVIDIA, to achieve a performance increase of 40%:
DLSS mode helps the most when the video card is under maximum load and is available respectively only in the following resolutions at maximum quality settings:
- at 3840 Γ 2160 on all GeForce RTX accelerators;
- at 2560 Γ 1440 - on GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 2070, RTX 2080 cards.
To use NVIDIA DLSS in Anthem, you need to install the latest GeForce driver, have Windows 10 version 1809 or higher, apply the specified resolution, and then enable NVIDIA DLSS in the game settings. To demonstrate the advantages of the new mode, the manufacturer presented a special video:
Although DLSS is already available and fully functional, NVIDIA promises to provide improvements to this mode in the future through further training of the neural network on its supercomputer. When performance or quality improves, the company automatically rolls out game updates through the release of fresh drivers.
By the way, at the same time, Anthem received support for NVIDIA Highlights technology, which allows GeForce Experience users to automatically record the best parts of the gameplay in compatible games (when killing bosses, legendary enemies, discovering secrets, and in other cases).
