Video: online arena shooter with portals Splitgate: Arena Warfare will be released on May 22

Seem to be, open beta testing competitive arena shooter Splitgate: Arena Warfare was a success. Because recently the developers from the independent studio 1047 Games presented a trailer announcing the release date of the final version of this interesting game, characterized by a neon environment and the ability to create portals similar to the Portal series from Valve. Launch on Steam is scheduled for May 22, and the game will be distributed shareware:

Also in recent days, the developers have presented several videos dedicated to various maps that will be available in Splitgate: Arena Warfare. For example, Outpost was once a refueling base for spaceships, but has now become a space battle arena where participants can actively use momentum to perform long portal jumps in an attempt to seize control of a sniper tower. The latter gives an excellent overview of the entire map, and also provides a convenient position for fans of the rail gun:

In turn, Highwind is the smallest arena, located on top of a tall and mighty Japanese forest. There are both small corridors and open platforms that promote intense battles. The team better act together, because it will be difficult to hide:

The Pantheon Temple is believed to be the first place where portal technology was discovered. Tournaments are regularly held here, and after modernization the arena can accommodate up to 8000 spectators. It's an open, symmetrical map with four equal corners and sniper rifles on each side. Once on the middle platform (which is quite risky), you can get a rocket launcher, which gives a serious advantage.

Splitgate: Arena Warfare was announced in July last year and is created on the Unreal Engine 4 with an eye on the most popular arena shooters. The usual formula here is seriously diversified by portals, making battles non-trivial. The ability to play with people and bots is available. The project, according to the authors, is designed for both beginners and experienced fans of the first-person shooter genre, and for more comfortable battles, a ranking system is provided that selects more or less equal opponents. Players start each match with the same loadout, which will make battles more fair. More powerful weapons appear on a timer in various parts of the arena.
