Last July, Nintendo brought the most complete and improved version of the excellent puzzle game Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker to its Switch hybrid console (as well as the 3DS handheld), which was previously only available on the Wii U.
Now the developers have unveiled a fresh paid download, Special Episode, which will allow Captain Toad and Toadette to embark on a new adventure. It's available now and includes 18 new challenges, including five fresh levels with sparkling crowns to discover. The cost of the add-on in Nintendo eShop is 449 rubles (the set with the main game will cost a considerable 3448 rubles. A small fresh video is presented for this occasion.
Recall: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, in addition to all the advantages of the Wii U version, also includes levels created based on Super Mario Odyssey. The game features cartoonish Mario-style graphics and each level challenges you to get to the star of power by avoiding enemies, overcoming obstacles and moving various objects. To open the desired passages, sometimes you need to rotate the camera and change the perspective. The coin finder cannot jump because of the heavy backpack, so you need to be careful. Scattered throughout the levels are useful items with which you can solve puzzles and fight opponents.
Most of the locations are made in an isometric perspective, but there are also non-standard entertainment. Along with innovations, there are more than 70 levels in the game to explore. There are also special cooperative modes, when one player controls Captain Toad, and the other helps him (for example, throwing turnips at enemies).
In our review, Aleksey Likhachev was very pleased with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, giving the game 8 points out of 10. Of course, it is impossible to call it the main Switch game, but dozens of exciting and varied levels, many secrets and additional challenges, excellent design and skillful puzzles, as well as cute style make the project very entertaining. The disadvantages include the relatively high price of 2799 rubles (but this is a problem with almost all Nintendo games on our market), the lack of the ability to quickly restart the level and boring co-op for the second player.
