Publisher 2K Games and Studio Gearbox Software at the end of March introduced Borderlands 3 with an incendiary trailer. Recently, information about the launch date was leaked to the Network, and now it has been officially confirmed - the premiere will indeed take place on September 13, 2019 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms (as has become a new rule - exclusively on the Epic Games store). At the same time, on this occasion, the creators shared some information and showed a fresh trailer:
Those wishing to purchase the PC version on Steam or other digital storefronts will have to wait until April 2020. Interestingly, Borderlands 3 for PC, as the developers promise, will take full advantage of the capabilities of modern graphics technologies and, thanks to the cooperation with AMD, will be optimized for Radeon graphics cards and Ryzen processors.
Borderlands 3, like previous games in the series, will remain a whirlwind story-driven co-op shooter. As the developers promise, we are waiting for a rodeo of a galactic scale, a lot of bright characters, incredible bosses and just an insane amount of different guns. For several years now, Gearbox Software has been devoting all its energy and creativity to Borderlands 3, making it the most ambitious adventure in the series.
Go to the vastness of new worlds and destroy enemies will be offered in the role of new Vault Seekers. Each of the four adorable scumbags (Moze, FL4K, Amara and Zane) has their own unique skill tree, abilities and customization options. They lit up both in the first trailer and in the new one. However, more details about the story, characters, gear, and everything else are promised during the live stream with the presentation of the gameplay, which will take place on May 1.
At the same time, the developers announced the start of accepting pre-orders and shared details about the versions of the game and bonuses. For example, the Borderlands 3 Standard Edition (1999 rubles on the Epic Games Store) includes the complete base game, and for pre-order it promises gold colors for guns and a weapon accessory.
Borderlands 3 Deluxe Edition (2999 rubles), in addition to the basic version and the usual pre-order bonus, also offers the Retro, Neon and Gearbox cosmetic sets, the Toy Box weapon set, as well as an experience and loot accelerator. Finally, the Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition (RUR 3499) offers all digital content and pre-order gifts for the Deluxe Edition, along with the game's Season Pass, which includes 4 story expansions, coloring, trinket, and the Asshole grenade mod.
There is also a physical collector's edition of Borderlands 3 Diamond Loot Chest. It includes not only all of the above, but also the following content:
- a diamond loot chest with a retractable lid, ideal for storing trophies;
- 10 Borderlands 3 character figurines (approximately 8cm tall) including four new Seekers, the Calypso Fanatic Twins, and some other Borderlands favorites;
- modular model of the ship "Vault-3" on a special stand;
- 4 Vault Keychains;
- cloth galaxy map with information about worlds beyond Pandora;
- 5 lithographs with unique images of four new seekers and the Calypso twins;
- rich metal disc case.
At the same time, the developers from Gearbox recalled the success of older games: the total circulation of the series has already exceeded 41 million copies sold, and the most successful game, Borderlands 2, still attracts more than a million unique players every month. Unsurprisingly, along with Borderlands 3, the developers introduced an improved version of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition and free Ultra HD Texture packs for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
