Video: A new game in the Yakuza series could be a turn-based tactic

At Sega Fes 2019, Yakuza series chief director Toshihiro Nagoshi confirmed that Yakuza Online's Ichiban Kasuga will appear in the next Yakuza game. Later, he said that he would like to make radical changes to the project. And now, a video has been published on the official channel of the Sega Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, which shows the gameplay of the future project.

Apparently, the game (the name has not yet been announced, and the video is simply called ryu_new_0401) will receive a fundamentally redesigned battle mechanics, which will become turn-based. In skirmishes with opponents, players will be able to choose different actions and strikes that will allow the characters to get out of difficult situations as efficiently as possible.

However, it can be assumed that the turn-based combat mode will not always be available, but only as part of certain mini-games, but in general the game will remain true to the covenants of the Yakuza crime adventure series. Considering today's date, this could all be a joke.

Among the latest news regarding Yakuza, we can recall how Sega was going to remove the Judgment project from sale on the world market after the arrest of actor Pierre Taki, who voiced one of the characters. Then it became known that the release date of the Western version of the game would not be postponed - the hero's voice would be updated in time.
