One of the features of the Chinese flagship, which Huawei promised at the time of its release, is the ability to simultaneously (parallel) video shooting through the main camera and through the telephoto lens to create a common video sequence with a picture divided in half. Dual Video mode allows you to create unique and impactful videos by being able to simultaneously show both the details of a frame and its overall context, without any effort.

This mode was not available when sales of the smartphone began, and the company promised that it would appear in the next firmware update. And now, as promised, dual video recording mode has appeared in the user interface update - EMUI 9.1.0.153, which is now being distributed in China.

The general list of changes in the update is as follows:

Camera

  • Added dual video mode, which allows you to record panoramic and TV video simultaneously.
  • Added Charming Portrait mode, allowing you to take portrait photos with special blur effects.

Huawei Vlog

  • Added automatic generation of video cuts and new effect templates.

Security

  • Security patches released by Google in April 2019 have been applied.

The update will be rolled out in stages, so you'll likely have to wait until it becomes available in your region, unless Huawei discovers any major bugs and stops rolling it out before then.
