βAfter folding Orcs Must Die! Unchained we had to reduce the number of studio staff. We've shrunk down and focused on making games on a smaller scale than Orcs Must Die! (OMD). We didn't know when or if we would return to the OMD series.
We then met with Google to learn more about Stadia as it applied to our other projects. It turned out that the search giant's employees are big fans of OMD. This has led to discussions of OMD possibly coming to Stadia. Both parties were delighted with the idea and decided to go further.
Currently Orcs Must Die! 3 would not have been possible without Google's support. To a large extent, they were behind the game. We hired more developers to bring the project to life. This is exactly the OMD that fans of the first two games dreamed of, and we are very glad that we had the opportunity to realize it. In a subsequent comment, Mr. Hudson also confirmed that Orcs Must Die! 3 will be a regular paid game, and not a free-to-play game based on micropayments like the closed Orcs Must Die! Unchained. In Orcs Must Die! 3, huge armies of orcs will appear, besieging the player bases. According to Robot Entertainment, there can be up to 500 orcs in one wave.
