Video: Redmi Note 7 went to the stratosphere and returned safely

What only didn't go already manufacturer of Redmi Note 7 to prove the strength of this device. But the Xiaomi UK team decided to prove that the device can handle space flights. A few days ago, they decided to launch Redmi Note 7 into the stratosphere using a weather balloon. After that, the device was safely returned to Earth:

According to the company, Redmi Note 7 has not only been able to withstand extreme low temperatures and the harsh conditions of the stratosphere, proving its durability, but also was able to capture clear high-quality pictures with its 48-megapixel main camera. As the Xiaomi team assures, no manipulations were made with the smartphone before being sent to the stratosphere.

The experiment also used GoPro-based cameras that were internally modified to control temperature distribution and stability and encased in insulated, electronically controlled temperature capsules. The balloon itself was specially designed and manufactured on the basis of a weather balloon specifically for the launch of Redmi Note 7 - such equipment is capable of delivering several kilograms into near space (the air step reached the upper layer of the stratosphere at an altitude of 35 meters).

In total, the team took 5 Redmi Note 7 smartphones with them to send into space: one was used only to shoot it against the background of the Earth. The second was used for photography (frames were taken every 10 seconds) and placed in a special device for thermal insulation. The carrying bag also housed 3 more fully enclosed vehicles.

In total, the flight took from departure to landing 2 hours 3 minutes - it took 1 hour 27 minutes to climb, and 36 minutes to descend. In total, the flight length was 193 km, and smartphones landed at a distance of 300 meters from the intended landing site. At the coldest point of the ascent, the temperature was -58 ° C.
