Video: action RPG Dragonhound will receive support for ray tracing

Dragonhound is a multiplayer action role-playing game developed by the Korean company Nexon and the DevCAT studio. During the Game Developers Conference, Nexon announced that its action MMORPG will be getting full support for NVIDIA RTX real-time ray tracing, and even released a video to that effect:

Judging by this video, the emphasis is on realistic reflections using ray tracing (however, shadows are also declared). At the same time, it seems that the developers were too carried away by these reflections, so instead of realism, the picture sometimes creates a rather strange impression. However, perhaps this was done to demonstrate the possibilities.

A game reminiscent of Monster Hunter: World has been created for about three years on the Unreal Engine 4 engine (the Silvervine Engine is responsible for the animation). When the game is released, it will allow players to take on the role of a dragon and monster hunter in a massive world.

The presented demo was created on a preliminary version of the Unreal Engine 4.22, which adds support for DirectX Raytracing (Epic Games promises to release the final build in the coming days).
